Possible Restoration of Warren's Mill

Posted: June 12 2017

At its June 2017 regular meeting, Town Council decided to move forward with the second phase of the project to explore the possibility of restoring the historic Warren's Mill. This decision came after Rick Beringer of Duffield Associates presented his firm's findings on the first phase of the project, which was to test the power generation potential. Mr. Beringer stated that enough energy would be generated in order to qualify the restoration project for various grants.

The next phase is to check with Delmarva Power to see if the utility will accept the power generated and to contact other governmental agencies to see if they would have any potential issues that might prevent the project from moving forward.

Should the report from Duffield come back positive for this phase, the next phase would be to research the possible grants and outside funding that the Town could receive to finance the project.
